The Memphis Leadership Fellows Program text only PRINT

The Memphis Leadership Fellows Program is a year long leadership development program designed to prepare principals for the Memphis City Schools. Program participants are identified through a rigorous selection process from individuals who aspire to be principals and currently hold a principal’s license. This “pathway" was established to ensure that a pool of highly qualified leaders is available from which individuals can be selected to assume positions in the Memphis City Schools as principals. The Memphis Leadership Fellows Program has a single, clear focus: to provide outstanding leaders who promote high levels of academic achievement for all students in the Memphis City Schools. Candidates selected as one of the twenty participants each year are known as Leadership Fellows.

This innovative leadership development program contains the following components:

  • Rigorous Recruitment and Selection
  • Intensive Experiential Learning Orientation
  • Mentoring Principals/Administrators
  • Year-long Internship
  • Cohort Group
  • Business Coaches
  • Program Coaches
  • Community Organization Mentor
  • High Quality Coursework/Seminars
  • Team Problem Solving
