The Leadership Support Program consists of a series of seminars designed to provide professional development for practicing school leaders and to enhance the skills and attributes of individuals who successfully complete other Center program components. Program coaches and mentors design and implement activities that address the individual needs of participants, support their efforts in addressing challenges in specific situations, and provide them with specific information concerning contemporary research-based urban school practices. These professionally designed materials focus on the knowledge and skills that are critical to the success of beginning school leaders. Specifically:
Mentoring activities are continued for the first three years of a leader’s tenure in a school leadership role.
A support network is established that enhances the confidence and competence of individuals serving in educational leadership roles.
Seminars provide educational renewal information for the purpose of assisting practicing school leaders in addressing their needs.
Research services provide information that can be used to address challenging situations.
