This is a non-degree program for students who are or have been teachers and hold a graduate degree in an educational field. It consists of an individualized program designed in reference to the student's past graduate program and educationally related work experiences. The program is designed to ensure that the student has had experiences that parallel those in the master's degree program. Typically, students take 28-30 credits, an internship, and complete a portfolio.

Only students who hold a graduate degree (and do not wish an additional master's degree) are affected. The State of Tennessee has established the following requirements for licensure:

• A graduate degree in education from an accredited institution.
• Teaching experience.
• Successful skills in State (ISLLC) standards.
• A passing score on the State Administration Licensure Examination.

This program is for persons who have a master’s degree in an educational field who are wanting to obtain licensure as a principal or supervisor in a P-12 setting. Licensure leads to the possibility of being employed in one of these capacities. Hours earned apply to school districts' pay schedules.

As a culmination of this program the student will be able to:

• Understand, analyze, and reflect critically upon contemporary school administration and supervision from a variety of conceptual frameworks.
• Understand the environments within which P-12 school administration and supervision operates.
• Fulfill the responsibilities required in P-12 administrative leadership.
• Understand the nature of the learner in diverse educational settings.
• Interpret, apply, and conduct educational research.
