The Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology and Research offers graduate degree programs in three program areas: M.S. and Ed.D. degrees in Counseling, M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Educational Psychology and Research, and a Ph.D. degree in Counseling Psychology.  The departmental objective is to prepare advanced educational leaders to be both sophisticated practitioners and researchers.  The graduate degrees within the department will qualify students as university and college teachers, counselors, psychologists, program evaluators, and researchers in educational and counseling environments, as well as provide them with the skills necessary to fill a variety of roles in other settings in which knowledge of human development, learning and cognition, research and evaluation methods are essential.

Programs and Concentrations

Admission to each program is handled separately. Each program has its own admission criteria, and an application must be made for a particular program before an applicant is considered for that program. See the Forms page for departmental applications. In addition, all potential students must apply to The University of Memphis Graduate School for separate Graduate School admission.
