The Office of Faculty and Staff Development is responsible for the general well-being and professional growth of the faculty and staff of the College of Education. This purpose is carried out by assisting in nurturing faculty and staff in their pursuit of excellence; advocating for faculty and staff interests; assisting in providing appropriate professional development experiences; designing an induction and mentoring program for new faculty, assisting in mentoring new faculty, providing training for mentors; assisting faculty and staff in developing and implementing professional development plans; facilitating opportunities for faculty to improve teaching, participate in meaningful service, and conduct research; and providing technical assistance and support to faculty in preparation for promotion and tenure and other awards as appropriate. The Faculty Development Advisory Committee and the Staff Development Advisory Committee will work with the Assistant Dean to provide input on how the Office of Faculty and Staff Development can best meet the needs of faculty and staff in the college. Faculty and staff from each department are represented on the advisory committees. Other committees will be formed, as needed, to provide advice on carrying out the goal and purposes of the office.
