Financial Information

Financial Notes

  • Students can purchase textbooks at competitive prices at U of M Bookstore.
  • Student may be required to purchase a lab coat.
  • Undergraduate students are covered under a blanket liability insurance policy during their clinical internship experience (NUTR 4605). This is free to the student. Liability for travel to and from classes, field experiences, and any university-related activity is the responsibility of the student.

Graduation

  • Eligibility: Students are eligible to apply for graduation after completing 100 credit hours of the dietetics program and after completing the Senior Test.

  • Information Session: Students planning to apply for a dietetic internship or graduate school after graduation should attend the information session offered for dietetic students each fall semester on Applying for a Dietetic Internship/Graduate School.

  • Verification Statement of Completion: Graduates are mailed a CADE-Verification Statement of Completion after the degree is posted on the transcript.

  • Applying for Graduation: Dietetic students follow the College of Education directions for graduation.

Privacy Rights Of Parents And Students

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, with which the University complies fully, is designed to protect the privacy of educational records, to establish the right of students to inspect and review their educational records, and to provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data through informal and formal hearings. Students also have the right to file complaints with The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act Office (FERPA) concerning alleged failures by the institution to comply with the Act.

The provisions for the release of information about students and the rights of students and others to have access to the University of Memphis education records are published in their entirety in the University of Memphis Procedure "Privacy of Education Records” which is available in the offices of the Registrar and the University Counsel.

Complaints Against The Program

The Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education has established a process for reviewing complaints against accredited/approved programs in order to fulfill its public responsibility for assuring the quality and integrity of the educational programs. Any individual, for example, student, faculty, dietetics practitioner or member of the public, may submit a complaint against any accredited or approved program to CADE.
