The concentration of Exercise and Sport Science provides a comprehensive exposure to the fields of exercise science; sports medicine; health promotion; and wellness by introducing students to the theoretical concepts and practical skills associated with physical fitness, preventive health, and sports conditioning. Upon graduation, students wishing to pursue more advanced training in areas related to exercise science and health promotion are well prepared to do so. At that time, they are qualified to seek professional certification offered by various professional organizations such as the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Career Opportunities Graduates of the program are well-prepared for careers as health and fitness instructors, health and fitness directors, personal trainers, exercise physiologists, and/or health promotion specialists in private, corporate, or medically-based fitness and wellness programs.
