The concentration in Health Promotion leads to a research-centered degree for students seeking to develop skills essential for designing, promoting, implementing, and evaluating wellness and health promotion programs in corporate and public settings. Course work emphasized theoretical and conceptual issues in health promotion. Career Opportunities Career opportunities in Health Promotion are diverse, ranging from personal fitness trainer to management positions. Specific positions include fitness leaders, aerobic instructors, fitness entrepreneurs, health and fitness consultants, and health educators in public and private health care settings. Research Emphases Research activities emphasize action research involving practical application including, but not limited to, descriptive studies on the health and wellness status of various population groups, scientific studies involving interventions.
