Mission

The College Sport Research Institute (CSRI) Advisory Committee is comprised of college-sport professionals who have invested their time and energy to support CSRI efforts to educate students, scholars, athletic administrators, college athletes, coaches, and the general public regarding college-sport issues. Everyone involved with CSRI believes college-sport research retains minimal value if it does not foster a greater understanding regarding how theoretical concepts can be applied to the "real world" of college sport.

CSRI is committed to fostering an environment where disseminated college-sport research (theory)results in practitioners addressing college-sport issues (action) - hence the importance of involving college-sport administrators, corporate executives, government leaders, and college-sport commentators in CSRI through the CSRI Advisory Committee. The advisory committee's college-sport "professionals" bring an additional perspective that helps fulfill CSRI's mission.

The CSRI Advisory Committee is dynamic and fluid and will continue to add new members as CSRI expands its engagement with those involved in college sport.

The initial College Sport Research Institute advisory committee includes:
  • Mr. Dale Brown, former LSU men's basketball coach
  • Mr. Patrick Byrne, Director of Sales and Marketing, AutoZone Liberty Bowl
