The College of Education Conceptual Framework is a living document that provides an underlying structure and articulates a rationale for our operations and gives direction to all aspects of our programs. We have attached a brief Conceptual Framework document as well as a full Conceptual Framework document. Our Conceptual Framework is organized around our long held overarching theme of “Preparing Educational Leaders.” Our present Framework identifies three core commitments that are common to all programs in the College: a commitment to Diversity and diverse communities, a commitment to Effective Practice, and a commitment to Leadership. These common commitments are supported by principles of action and norms of interaction and over time have resulted in the specification of performance outcome standards for all candidates including professional Pillars of Practice, Diversity, and Disposition performance standards. Based on a solid professional knowledge base of standards, best practices, research and theory, these three sets of performance standards define our expectations for what all candidates should know, be able to do, and be like when they complete our programs. - conceptual framework graphic
