| Peggy Fitzgerald Dean's Office Ball Hall 215 peggy@memphis.edu | Deadlines are March 15th of each year | Scholarship Application - [Not for Minority Teaching Fellows or Tennessee Teaching Scholars Programs] | Undergraduate - Alpha Delta Kappa, Alpha Chapter/Mary A. Suggs Memorial Scholarship - is awarded to a junior or senior student majoring in education. The recipient of this scholarship must be enrolled full-time and have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- The Ernest C. Ball Scholarship - is awarded to a student majoring in Early Childhood Education who shows academic ability and financial need.
- Sam T. Boswell Leadership Award - is awarded to a sophomore, junior or senior student within the College of Education. The recipient must have a 2.75 GPA. Selection will be made on positive peer influence, personal and political courage, demonstrated leadership qualities, community involvement and a 500 word written essay.
- College of Alumni Scholarships/George Etheridge - is awarded to a student who can demonstrate financial need. The recipient of this award must have a 3.0 minimum GPA.
- College of Education Dean's Scholarship - is awarded to any student enrolled in the College of Education who can demonstrate a financial need. Preference will be given to those students entering the teaching profession. Student will be expected to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA (undergraduate) and 3.50 GPA (graduate). This award is made in honor of Sam H. Johnson, Ph. D. the first Dean of the College of Education.
- Ellen Davies-Rodgers Scholarship - is awarded to a student pursuing a degree in Early Childhood with emphasis on nursery school, kindergarten, and grades 1, 2 and 3. The recipient must maintain at least a 3.00 GPA.
- Dockery-Faros Coaching Scholarship - is awarded to a student pursuing a degree in Physical Education. The recipient must have a 2.50 grade point average and be classified as a junior or senior. The recipient must hold a desire to pursue a career in coaching.
- The Frances Ina Stewart Davies Scholarship - is awarded to female students pursuing degrees in Home Economics and maintains a GPA of at least 3.00.
- George W. Etheridge Early Childhood Education Memorial - is awarded to a junior or senior or graduate student in the College of Education who is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education.
- The Kiwanis Club of East Memphis Memorial Scholarship - is presented to a junior or senior majoring in Special Education and demonstrating high achievement and need. Preference will be given to Shelby County residents.
- The Harold W. Perry Scholarship - is awarded to a student majoring in Special Education and Rehabilitation who is training as a teacher to work with individuals with multiple disabilities, demonstrates high scholastic achievement, and a willingness to work with persons with disabilities.
- Elma Roane HSS Scholarship - is awarded to a junior, senior or graduate female student who has declared a major in HSS department. The recipient must have a 2.75 undergraduate GPA. Note: Preferences will be given to student athletes participating in women's varsity or club sports or majoring in PETE.
- Elizabeth and Harold Robinson Fellowship
- Robinson Fellows shall be fully qualified students enrolled full-time in undergraduate programs and majoring in a degree that will result in a license to teach.
- Preference may be given to students from the rural Mid-South. Financial need may be considered.
- Robinson Fellows must be admitted to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) and maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 to retain the fellowship. The fellowship is renewable up to 3 years.
- Candidates must be recommended by a University of Memphis faculty member or a P-12 school faculty member.
| Graduate - College of Alumni Scholarships/George Etheridge is awarded to a student who is in financial need. The recipient of this award must have a 3.0 minimum GPA.
- Mildred A. Reeves Scholarship for Clinical Nutrition
- Applicants should be enrolled full time in the graduate program of the Department of clinical Nutrition at the University of Memphis
- Applicants should have a minimum cumulative G.P.A. of 3.25
- Recipients may receive this award only once

- Dr. Sam Lucas Memorial Scholarship
- Applicants should be a graduate student enrolled in the department of Leadership
- Applicants shall be in a Master’s degree program leading to beginning administrator licensure or the Doctoral degree program for K-12 administration
- Dr. Burl E. Gilliland Memorial Scholarship
- Applicants must be enrolled a full time graduate student in the area of Counseling Psychology
- Applicants who demonstrate a need for financial assistance will be given first priority.
- Preference will be given to those applicants who demonstrate a strong financial need for assistance.
| | Outside Scholarships Christa McAuliffe Scholarship Program Minority Teaching Fellows Program - If you are currently teaching on an Interim A, Interim E, Permit, Waiver or regular license, you do not qualify for this scholarship. Application - Entering Freshmen with 2.75 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Continuing college student with a college GPA of 2.5
- At least 18 on ACT or 850 on SAT or be in top 25% of their high school class
- Agree to teach at a K-12 level in a Tennessee public school one year for each year the award is received.
- Must be a Tennessee resident attending a Tennessee institution
- Forgivable loan for college juniors, seniors, and post-baccalaureate students admitted to state-approved teacher education programs at a Tennessee institution of higher education
- Pledge to teach at the public preschool, elementary or secondary level in Tennessee one year for each year the award is received
- Must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Tennessee with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75; must complete a Tennessee Teaching Scholars Program application submitted to TSAC through the Teacher Education Program (TEP) at the student's institution.
