As of 1 September 2005, The College of Education offers endorsement to a professional, academic license in some 42 areas. (In a different vein, the College offers also professional licenses in the Trade and Industry fields.) It is important to realize that some of these endorsements can be deleted and others added at the discretion of the originating department, the College of Education, the Tennessee Department of Education or the State Board of Education. It is important to realize, too, that some of the requirements for the endorsements can change at the discretion of the bodies listed above. Generally, a person who is seeking an endorsement is given ample opportunity to finish that endorsement before change goes into effect.

The areas of endorsement offered by the College of Education and leading to the academic license, the administrator license, the special group license, and/or the occupational license are as follows:
